How do I switch between modern and original commentary?
Go to Settings and look for "Commentary Style." Tap "Modern" for plain English or "Original" for Matthew Henry's text as written.
How do I highlight a verse?
While reading a chapter, long-press on any word in a verse. You can then tap additional words to extend your highlight. This feature requires Carpenter Premium.
How do I bookmark a chapter?
While reading a chapter, tap the bookmark icon in the top right corner. You can view all your bookmarks from the Saved screen. This feature requires Carpenter Premium.
How do I create a prayer?
Go to the Prayers tab and tap the + button. You can write your own text and insert Scripture verses or commentary excerpts directly from the app. This feature requires Carpenter Premium.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings. If your purchase isn't automatically detected, go to the Prayers tab and tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom of the Premium screen.
Is an internet connection required?
No. The full Bible text and commentary are included in the app. You can read everything offline after downloading.
Which Bible translation is used?
Carpenter uses the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain.
Who wrote the commentary?
The commentary is based on Matthew Henry's "Commentary on the Whole Bible," originally published between 1706 and 1721. It is in the public domain.
Can I change the font size?
Yes. Go to Settings and use the Font Size slider under the Reading section.
